More Than a Model

The term supermodel became prominent in the 90s and very much a part of pop culture. Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer (my favorite), and Helena Christensen were all the epitome of beauty and quickly became household names. Remember Chris Issak’s Wicked Games video*? Helena looked gorgeous, gorgeous, beautiful, gorgeous, gorgeous. Chris Issak wasn’t so bad on the eyes either. And the only real time I was waaaaaaaay jealous of Cindy Crawford (normally I was just jealous, jealous) was when she danced in that Revlon commercial with Technotronic’s song, Move This, playing in the background. I swore I had better moves than her. And when Linda Evangelista stated she didn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day, I realized it was okay to sleep a lot longer because I knew no one was going to be paying me that much to get out of my comfy sheets. I miss those super, supermodel days.

*Technically, the song was released in 1989, but close enough to mention in my 90s theme.
