I thought it’d be fun to gather up room inspirations based around music I’ve been listening to heavily.
The xx
Mostly, I’ve just been listening to that Life Magazine song thanks to my friend Evelin.

I saw The XX in Edinburgh two years ago (back when nobody had even heard of them) and they were completely amazing. Apparently they’ve totally sold out though. I heard one of their songs in an AT&T commercial and somebody told me they heard “Islands” in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy (which I certainly do NOT watch.) Even the Olympics used one of their songs. It won’t be long before Star 98.7 picks up on them so we’d better enjoy it while we can.
great call Silverlake guy – as soon as someone else likes the music i like it instantly becomes terrible. i disdain people who like music i like. essentially, if someone else likes an artist i like, then that artist sucks.
Beautiful post, especially the Jay Electronica joint. What a track/album: http://bit.ly/cWMjLq
Awesome!
hey silverlake guy here is a newsflash for you – in today’s world im sorry to tell you that music is so accessible even by music supervisors for commercials and tv shows that your super underground music does not stay that way for long. know that if something is good it will probably be exposed as being good. and thats the way it should be!
Love this post! I am hearting The XX and Passion Pit mucho. I have Crystal Castles but haven’t loaded onto my IPOD yet. You just encouraged me to do so. Love it!

Just want to say what a great blog you got here!
I’ve been around for quite a lot of time, but finally decided to show my appreciation of your work!
Thumbs up, and keep it going!
Cheers

Awesome Irene, I love it! Keep those creative juices flowing, they are very inspiring and motivating to all us artists out there.
